“my work captures moments of emotional & spiritual energy as competing energies battle to transform environments and alter states of mind. I aspire to inspire and to be inspired,
to share “joie de vivre”!”

Raison d’ete
Making art is my raison d’etre, my life’s purpose en par with family, my secret mistress..
My work is a representation of energy I see or feel. I like to think that I am able to imprint my energy onto the canvas.
When I am in flow and creating the main premise of a work, energy courses through my body and seems to imprint into the work effortlessly. I am merely the channel through which the energy flows.
Much of my work is a snapshot of the energy in my body at a given moment in time. Although there are other times when I highlight and bring out energy I perceive in nature or in an object or another person..
I aspire to inspire and to be inspired, to highlight the energy I see and feel and to bring it to the attention of others. My life philosophy is one of “joie de vivre” and that comes through in my work.
It is my goal to influence the energy of environments. Within each piece is space for the mind to rest and contemplate. This is why I favor the abstract - like a poem, it can be interpreted differently by the viewer at different times depending on what trials his soul is experiencing.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT for Ground 14
This piece is depicts the vibrant energy I often feel throughout the day. When it gets this intense it’s time to meditate. This painting marks a significant time in my life when I started painting genuine energy, no longer worrying about making aesthetically pleasing work for an audience.
